The giant artistic skylight project for the Wangjiadun Central Business District Station of Wuhan Metro Line 3, which was constructed by Hubei Fengfa Glass Co., Ltd., has been successfully completed and delivered. This station was awarded the title of "The Most Beautiful Metro Station in Asia" due to its dreamy gradient blue and purple glass dome. It is also a popular cultural landmark of Wuhan that is promoting the city globally.
The dome of this project has a diameter of 23 meters and is composed of 954 pieces of three-layer hollow laminated tempered glass precisely assembled. The total glass area is 650 square meters. The technical team of Fengfa adopted a 6-stage blue and purple gradient optical glass process, combined with the design of a lotus-shaped steel structure, to create colorful light and shadow during the day and restore the vast starry sky scene at night. From the selection of raw materials, precise cutting of irregular glass, deep processing of tempered laminated glass to the seamless installation of high-altitude modules, 18 strict quality inspection procedures were implemented throughout the process. It not only meets the public building standards for high-rise rail transit, such as wind resistance, fire prevention, explosion prevention, and moisture and corrosion resistance, but also perfectly integrates the Jingchu aesthetics and modern urban space through artistic glass technology.
After more than ten years of deep involvement in the glass processing industry in Central China, Hubei Fengfa Glass has successively implemented dozens of rail transit art and cultural wall projects, such as the Autumn Water Square in Nanchang, Wuhan Guobo North Station, and Sishixin Avenue Station. With the three core technologies of SGP high-strength laminated glass, multi-layer shadow art painting, and ultra-large curved curtain wall precision processing, it continuously provides one-stop glass customization, deep processing, and installation solutions for urban public infrastructure, high-end commercial complexes, and star hotels. It uses glass light and shadow to carve the aesthetic of urban architecture.
